CMC One Ward programme reviews Muthangi civic issues, opens Tellapur composting facility

Hyderabad: The CMC One Ward programme reviewed drainage, water supply, roads and sanitation concerns in Muthangi Ward. The Commissioner also inaugurated a community composting facility during a visit to Tellapur Ward.

The CMC Commissioner inspected Muthangi along with the Zonal Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and other officials. During the visit, the team interacted with residents to identify local civic problems and development requirements.

Residents highlighted drainage overflows in several colonies. Moreover, they sought remodelling of the sewerage network to address the problem. They also reported damage to water supply pipelines during National Highway road-widening works.

Residents sought development of an alternative road near the 100-ft road. In addition, they requested more sanitation workers for villages in the area. The Commissioner directed the officials concerned to examine the issues raised during the interaction. Subsequently, officials were asked to take necessary action based on requirements on the ground.

The team later visited Tellapur Ward as part of the CMC One Ward programme. There, the Commissioner inaugurated a Community Composting Facility at MUPPA Indraprastha. The facility formed part of local efforts to promote sustainable waste management. Meanwhile, the Commissioner appreciated TeNA volunteers for promoting Net Zero Waste practices.

The Commissioner encouraged residents and volunteers to continue participating in sustainable waste management initiatives. Moreover, the visit combined the review of conventional civic problems with community-led waste management efforts.

In Muthangi, officials focused on drainage, water pipelines, sanitation staffing and road connectivity. In Tellapur, the programme highlighted community composting and Net Zero Waste practices.

The Commissioner asked departments to examine the civic concerns and take necessary action. At the same time, CMC encouraged residents to remain involved in improving local waste management.
