The Minister said the state government committed itself to creating international employment opportunities for Telangana youth. The government also allocated ₹90 crore in the budget to strengthen Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Limited (TOMCOM).
He addressed the state-level workshop on India–European Union Mobility at The Park Hotel in Somajiguda, Hyderabad. The Ministry of External Affairs, the European Union and TOMCOM organised the workshop under Phase-II of the India–EU Migration and Mobility Project.
Overseas job pathways gain momentum through TOMCOM
Vivek Venkatswamy said Europe offered vast employment opportunities, while India possessed a large pool of skilled and trainable youth. Therefore, the partnership created mutual benefits as India prepared skilled manpower and European countries sought professionally trained workers.
The Minister said the Telangana government identified this opportunity early and launched focused programmes to prepare youth for global careers. As a result, TOMCOM emerged as a key institution for training and guiding candidates for overseas employment.
He said many candidates trained through TOMCOM secured jobs abroad successfully. Moreover, he highlighted the growing demand in European countries for candidates trained in foreign languages, especially German.
Overseas job pathways supported through skill training
Vivek Venkatswamy said the government created awareness about risks linked to illegal and unverified migration channels. At the same time, officials encouraged youth to use safe, legal and structured overseas job pathways.
He stated that the Telangana government established several Advanced Technology Centres across the state to provide globally relevant and industry-oriented training. In addition, the centres addressed changing demands in domestic and international job markets, especially in Europe.
Referring to the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence, the Minister said traditional job roles were changing quickly. Therefore, he stressed the importance of skill upgradation and technological adaptability.
He said youth trained according to future industry requirements would secure better international employment opportunities. Furthermore, the Minister said the workshop created awareness among Telangana youth about higher education, skill development and employment opportunities in European countries.
