CM Revanth issues heatwave alert for North Telangana districts

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy issued a heatwave alert on Wednesday and appealed to people to remain vigilant amid severe weather conditions warned by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Following reports of intense heatwave conditions in North Telangana districts, the Chief Minister directed officials to take all precautionary measures to protect people during summer.

He instructed authorities to ensure the availability of adequate ORS packets, uninterrupted drinking water supply and continuous power supply for residents in the affected districts.

Heatwave alert prompts emergency preparedness measures

Revanth Reddy directed the Medical and Health Department to provide better treatment for patients suffering from sunstroke and admitted to hospitals.

He also instructed local authorities to establish Chali Vendralu, or free drinking water centres, in urban areas to help people cope with rising temperatures.

The Chief Minister appealed to people not to venture outdoors during afternoon hours and advised them to avoid unnecessary travel during peak heat conditions.

Heatwave alert monitored by Chief Secretary

Revanth Reddy instructed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to continuously monitor the situation in the affected districts.

He also directed officials to issue necessary guidelines to district collectors to ensure public safety during the ongoing summer season.

The measures were announced after the IMD warned of severe heatwave conditions across parts of North Telangana.
