Telangana releases ₹2,000 crore to clear retired employees’ dues

Hyderabad: The Telangana government released ₹2,000 crore in the first phase to clear retired employees dues, taking a major step toward settling pending employee liabilities worth ₹6,000 crore within 100 days.

Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka directed the release of funds. Subsequently, Finance Department Special Chief Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania issued the orders on Friday.

Earlier, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka assured Employees’ Joint Action Committee (JAC) leaders that the government would settle pending dues worth ₹6,000 crore within the promised timeframe.

With this release, the government cleared several major liabilities linked to retired employees.

Retired employees dues cleared under first phase

Officials confirmed that the government cleared all General Provident Fund (GPF) dues of retired employees.

The government also settled all commutation dues pending up to May 2025.

According to officials, advance planning and a clear financial strategy enabled the government to complete these payments.

Meanwhile, Bhatti Vikramarka said the administration remained committed to clearing all pending employee liabilities.

He added that the first-phase release addressed long-standing concerns of retired employees across Telangana.

Retired employees dues to receive further payments

The Deputy Chief Minister said the government would release the remaining ₹4,000 crore within the committed timeline.

Furthermore, officials said departments were working quickly to credit the balance amount to employees’ accounts.

Meanwhile, employee union leaders and retired employees welcomed the decision.

They appreciated the government’s efforts and thanked the administration for acting on long-pending demands.

The government reiterated that employee welfare remains a priority. It also reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling promises made to serving and retired staff.
