Telangana airport development accelerates with plans for three new airports

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday reviewed progress on proposed airports and directed officials to speed up development in Warangal, Adilabad, and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts.

He held the review meeting at the Secretariat with Airports Authority officials. He aligned the plans with the development vision of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Telangana airport development gains momentum across districts

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government has prepared an action plan to build airports in the three districts. He added that officials are speeding up land acquisition, technical approvals, and infrastructure work.

As a result, authorities aim to begin the projects early.

He directed departments to coordinate closely with the Central Government to fast-track approvals and construction.

The minister said the state has already acquired around 953 acres for the Warangal airport and handed it over to the Centre. He added that officials will soon lay the foundation stone.

Telangana airport development plans focus on connectivity

For Adilabad, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the Defence Ministry, Civil Aviation authorities, and the state government will jointly develop the airport. He instructed officials to prepare the master plan immediately and begin land acquisition.

Once completed, the airport will improve connectivity in North Telangana.

In Bhadradri Kothagudem, the Civil Aviation Ministry rejected the earlier proposed site. Therefore, the minister directed officials to study alternative locations and submit a feasibility report.

He added that the government remains committed to expanding air connectivity and supporting regional development across Telangana.
