Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday proposed the establishment of a comprehensive AI data centre campus in Telangana and urged Bharti Enterprises to expand its digital infrastructure in the state. He also asked Airtel to expedite the Chandanvelli data centre project.
Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal met the Chief Minister at the MCRHRD Bodhi Pavilion in Hyderabad to discuss future investments.
During the meeting, Revanth Reddy encouraged Airtel to expand its digital, cloud, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence operations in Hyderabad. He also suggested that the company begin work on the Chandanvelli data centre project at the earliest.
AI data centre campus proposal focuses on future investments
The Chief Minister advised Mittal to nominate a senior executive to coordinate with the Telangana government on future investment opportunities. He said the dedicated coordination would help resolve issues quickly and facilitate new projects.
Mittal said Bharti Enterprises was considering Hyderabad as Airtel’s second headquarters. He also assured the Chief Minister that the company would increase its data centre capacity and expand fibre connectivity in the state.
