Hyderabad: A speeding car rammed into the residence of Tollywood actor Dharma, or Dharma house, in Hyderabad’s Film Nagar late on Thursday night, damaging the entrance gate and compound wall. The accident did not injure anyone inside the house.
According to preliminary information, a group of youths was travelling in the car. Meanwhile, the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle because of overspeeding. The car veered off the road and crashed into the actor’s residence.
Dharma house damaged in late-night crash
The impact damaged Dharma house and triggered panic among local residents, who rushed to the spot after hearing a loud noise. Further, locals suspected that the occupants of the car were under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred.
Dharma’s family lodged a complaint with the Film Nagar police. Additionally, police reached the scene, detained the youths travelling in the car and began an investigation.
Police are examining all possible causes of the accident. They are verifying the vehicle’s speed and conducting tests to determine whether the driver had consumed alcohol. Officers are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
Finally, police have registered a case and continue the investigation. They have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the accident or announced what legal action they will take against the driver.
