Hyderabad: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti on Friday urged employees to adopt environmentally responsible behaviour and contribute to environmental protection through sustainable practices.
Speaking during World Environment Day celebrations at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad, the CMD called upon people to reduce plastic usage, plant more trees and promote greenery to protect Mother Earth.
Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti planted saplings on the occasion and encouraged employees to incorporate Singareni green practices into both their professional responsibilities and personal lives.
Later, employees and participants took an environmental protection pledge as part of the programme.

Addressing SCCL employees, the CMD stressed the importance of environmental awareness and collective action in tackling ecological challenges.
He said every individual could contribute to environmental conservation through simple but meaningful measures. Therefore, he urged employees to actively participate in plantation drives and sustainable initiatives.
As part of the World Environment Day celebrations, SCCL also organised essay writing, elocution and quiz competitions. Subsequently, Dr. Buddhaprakash Jyoti distributed prizes to the winners.
The programme aimed to encourage awareness about environmental protection and promote greater participation in conservation activities.

Director (Personnel and Finance) Gautham Potru and Executive Director (Coal Movement) B. Venkanna participated in the event and planted saplings alongside the CMD.
Meanwhile, SCCL organised World Environment Day programmes across its operational areas. Various plantation drives and environmental awareness activities took place at multiple locations.
These initiatives sought to strengthen awareness about ecological conservation among employees and local communities.
