Hyderabad: Former Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy on Wednesday assumed charge as the Telangana State Security Advisor at the Integrated Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad.
The Telangana government recently appointed Shivadhar Reddy for a three-year term as State Security Advisor. He will advise the government on law and order, internal security, crime control, narcotics, and road safety.
Officials said Shivadhar Reddy brought extensive experience in internal security and anti-Naxal operations to the new assignment.
During his policing career, he handled several important responsibilities related to intelligence, policing, and security management in Telangana.
Telangana security advisor meets Governor
Soon after assuming charge, Shivadhar Reddy met Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Senior police officials congratulated him on taking charge as Telangana security advisor. Among those present were Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar and other senior officers.
Officials from the Home and Police departments also attended the programme at the Integrated Command and Control Centre.
The state government assigned Shivadhar Reddy responsibility for advising on several key security matters. These include internal security, crime prevention, narcotics control, and road safety management.
Officials expected his experience in anti-Naxal operations and intelligence coordination to support the state’s security planning.
