Hyderabad: A bike dispute allegedly led to the murder of a young woman and the subsequent suicide of her husband in Sangareddy district on Friday.
The incident occurred in Marepalli village of Kondapur mandal. Police identified the deceased as Dasari Anjaiah (25) and his wife Yadamma (20).
According to police, the couple married 11 months ago. After the marriage, Anjaiah leased a mango orchard on the outskirts of Marepalli and lived there with his wife while selling mangoes.
Investigators said Anjaiah frequently quarrelled with Yadamma over his demand that her family buy him a motorcycle. They also stated that he was addicted to alcohol.

On Friday morning, Anjaiah’s mother left for Sadasivpet to sell mangoes, leaving the couple alone at home.
Police said another argument broke out between the couple during that time.
In a fit of rage, Anjaiah allegedly strangled Yadamma by hanging her with a scarf inside a room, killing her on the spot.
After the incident, he reportedly feared arrest and imprisonment.
Consequently, he went a short distance from the house and died by suicide by hanging himself from a mango tree.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and examined the scene.
Based on a complaint lodged by Yadamma’s father, Sailu, police registered a case and launched an investigation.
