Dubbak: A 28-year-old man died by suicide on the outskirts of Dubbak town on Sunday morning. His family says he had been grieving the death of his elder brother in a road accident last month. Dubbak SI Keerthi Raju shared the details.
The man, Md Farooq, belonged to Pedda Chikode village. He lived with his mother, Haleemabi, an elderly woman who works as a daily wage labourer to support the family. Her second son, Md Rafi, died in a road accident on 14 October. Farooq, who was not mentally stable, had been deeply distressed since then.
Farooq left home on a two-wheeler on Sunday morning and stopped the vehicle near a tree on Dubbak’s outskirts. Locals who noticed what had happened informed his family and the police. Police reached the spot and conducted a panchnama. They then sent the body to the 100-bed area hospital in Dubbak for a postmortem.
