RTC workers issues: JAC leaders thank Minister Vivek Venkatswamy

Hyderabad: Leaders of the RTC Joint Action Committee (JAC) met State Labour Minister G Vivek Venkatswamy on April 26 and thanked him for what they described as historic decisions addressing long-pending RTC workers’ issues.

The meeting took place at the Minister’s residence, where JAC leaders felicitated him and expressed gratitude over recent government measures concerning RTC employees.

RTC workers issues see major policy decisions

JAC leaders said the government had fulfilled a long-standing demand by merging RTC with the state government. They described the move as a key step in resolving RTC workers issues and improving job security.

They also welcomed the decision to conduct recognition union elections, calling it a significant development for employee representation. In addition, they expressed satisfaction over the announcement of an 11 percent Pay Revision Commission (PRC) for RTC staff.

According to the leaders, these measures marked a turning point in addressing RTC workers issues that had remained unresolved for years.

During the interaction, union representatives including Venkanna, Thomas Reddy, Ashwaddhama Reddy, and Hanumanthu Mudiraj conveyed their appreciation to the government.

They said the decisions related to RTC workers issues would help strengthen the public transport system in the state. Moreover, they urged employees to work with renewed commitment and enthusiasm in light of the policy changes.

The leaders added that improved workforce morale would directly benefit service delivery and operational efficiency in the transport sector.
