Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to expand Prajavani services to the grassroots level, mandating a decentralised system to resolve public grievances efficiently across Telangana.
He instructed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and senior officials to ensure that citizens no longer need to travel to Hyderabad or district headquarters. Instead, Prajavani services will be extended to revenue divisions and later to mandal levels.
The Chief Minister issued the directive during a review meeting at the MCHRD institute on Sunday. He emphasised that every complaint must be registered, tracked, and resolved within fixed timelines. Officials must also keep applicants informed about the status of their petitions.
Revanth Reddy ordered departments to create a unified digital platform for grievance registration, tracking, and resolution. He said the system should enable real-time monitoring at both district and state levels. In addition, he directed authorities to appoint nodal officers at every administrative tier and establish dedicated Prajavani wings in all departments and districts.
Prajavani services expansion to include a digital tracking system
The Chief Minister said an auto-escalation mechanism would be introduced to ensure unresolved complaints move to higher authorities without delay. He added that an appeal system may also be implemented where necessary.
Prajavani was launched on December 8, 2023, the day Revanth Reddy assumed office, to address grievances swiftly. The programme has since been conducted twice a week at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad, with officials from multiple departments accepting petitions and acting on them. District-level Prajavani sessions are also held weekly under collectors’ supervision.
Revanth Reddy warned officials against delays and said accountability would be fixed for pending grievances. He directed them to hold regular review meetings and closely monitor progress through dashboards.
He stated that decentralising the expansion of Prajavani services would reduce pressure on centralised centres and improve accessibility. The Chief Minister added that effective implementation would strengthen public trust in governance.
