P.T. Usha inaugurates Telangana Olympic Bhavan at LB Stadium

Hyderabad: Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President P.T. Usha on Thursday inaugurated the Telangana Olympic Bhavan at LB Stadium and called for an athlete-centric sports ecosystem built on transparency, accountability and quality infrastructure.

The new Telangana Olympic Association building was inaugurated in the presence of Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari, Government Advisor A.P. Jitender Reddy, Sports Authority Chairman Shivasena Reddy, Managing Director Soni Baladevi, sports officials and athletes.

Addressing the gathering, Usha described the Olympic Bhavan as a milestone in Telangana’s sporting journey. Moreover, she said the facility would function as both an administrative centre and a hub for strengthening the Olympic movement.

She stressed that athletes’ welfare must remain the highest priority in sports administration. Furthermore, she urged young sportspersons to pursue their goals with discipline, dedication and hard work while encouraging institutions to provide better training and facilities.

Telangana Olympic Bhavan to support future champions

Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari recalled the achievements of sporting icons such as Milkha Singh and P.T. Usha. He also urged young people to spend more time on sports fields than on social media.

The Minister said the Telangana government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was committed to building world-class sports infrastructure and producing international medal winners. He encouraged aspiring athletes to utilise government support and work towards bringing laurels to the country.
