Hyderabad: Minister for Revenue, Housing and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy criticised the government’s communication failures on Tuesday, urging district Information and Public Relations officers to improve outreach and publicise the State’s achievements more effectively.
In a video conference with officials at the Secretariat, Ponguleti said that despite Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s administration focusing heavily on welfare and development over the past 18 months, the results have not been adequately conveyed to the public.
He accused the Opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of running a disinformation campaign, comparing their tactics to Nazi propagandist Goebbels. “They’re misleading the people with claims they couldn’t back while in power for a decade,” he said.
Ponguleti pointed out that the government has issued 7 lakh new ration cards and registered 15 lakh people awaiting cards for the last ten years. It also introduced the Bhu Bharti Act to resolve land disputes, he said, asserting that welfare programmes continue despite financial constraints.
He held district-level officials in the Information and Public Relations department accountable for the gap in public awareness and urged them to intensify communication efforts.
