Hyderabad: The Mailardevpally adulterated food racket was busted after police apprehended three persons involved in manufacturing and selling unsafe food products in the city.
In cases registered under multiple sections of the BNS, the Mailardevpally Police acted on credible information on March 28, 2026. Teams, along with the H-FAST unit, carried out coordinated raids in Babul Reddy Nagar and Laxmiguda areas.
During the operation, officers found the accused preparing a mixture, namkeen, chikkis, and Osmania biscuits without following food safety standards. Police said the accused used harmful chemicals and synthetic food colours while producing the items.
Mailardevpally adulterated food units supplied unsafe products
The accused were identified as Munnir Arun Kumar (34), V. Masthan Reddy (46), and Vishal Jain (41). Police stated that they operated under the names Arun Kumar Foods, Anjani Foods, and Jain Foods to distribute the products.
Authorities seized adulterated food items, raw materials, chemicals, and colouring agents worth about ₹3,35,100. Officials said the products were being supplied to local markets, posing a significant health risk.
The accused were taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to examine the supply chain and identify additional links in the racket.
