Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta murder case arrest led to the apprehension of four accused in connection with the killing of a 23-year-old man, police said.
The case relates to the death of Mohammed Salman, a plumber and resident of Kandikal Gate, who succumbed to injuries on March 27, 2026, while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital. Police registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS and launched an investigation.
According to officials, the accused attacked Salman on the intervening night of March 22 and 23. He was returning home after attending a Ramzan gathering when the assault took place due to a prior grudge.

Police said the main accused used a knuckle duster to assault the victim, while others attacked him with a stone and physical force. The victim sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to the hospital, where he later died.
During the investigation, officers tracked the suspects and apprehended them on March 27 at around 15:30 hours near the Falaknuma Railway Station while they were attempting to flee.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of ACP Chandrayangutta A. Sudhakar and SHO R. Gopi. SI S. Chandra Reddy, SI Srinivasa Rao, and staff took part in the investigation.
Further investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events and complete legal procedures.
