Hyderabad: Parents abandon children at a police station in Karimnagar district following a domestic dispute, prompting immediate police intervention.

The incident occurred in Thimmapur mandal when Ravi Kumar and Lalitha, who had married after a love relationship, arrived at the local police station amid an ongoing argument. The couple, residents of Allunoor village, had two children and had lived together for several years before disputes escalated recently.

Frequent disagreements intensified over the past few days. As tensions rose, both reached the police station and continued arguing in front of officers. In a sudden move, they refused to take responsibility for their children and left them behind, telling police to take care of them.

Lalitha also removed her mangalsutra and toe rings and left them with the children before walking away. The children, who had remained with their parents until then, broke down after being left alone at the station premises.

Parents abandon children case resolved after police counseling

Police at Thimmapur station responded immediately after noticing the children. Officers traced Ravi Kumar and Lalitha and brought them back to the station for counseling.

They conducted a detailed session and warned the couple about the consequences of their actions. Officers told them that disputes were common but abandoning children was both illegal and inhumane. They also stressed the impact such actions could have on the children’s future.

Following counseling, the couple acknowledged their mistake. They later took their children and returned home.
