Hyderabad: Nampally drains desilting and maintenance works came under review as AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain inspected several drains in the constituency along with Greater Hyderabad Zonal Commissioner Uday Kumar, IAS.
The inspection focused on monsoon preparedness and measures to improve rainwater drainage. Majid Hussain reviewed the progress of desilting and maintenance works at various locations. He said the exercise aimed to prevent waterlogging and drain overflows during the rainy season.
The MLA examined the condition of major drains and assessed the ongoing works. He also interacted with officials regarding steps required to ensure the smooth flow of rainwater across vulnerable areas in the constituency.

Meanwhile, Majid Hussain directed the concerned departments to expedite the pending works. He instructed officials to complete desilting and maintenance activities without delay.
He also asked departments to take all necessary measures to address potential drainage issues before heavy rains. According to officials, timely completion of the works would help reduce the risk of water accumulation in low-lying areas.
Officials from the Municipal Corporation, including the Deputy Commissioner and other department representatives, accompanied the inspection and reviewed the arrangements at the identified locations.
