Minister Vivek slams BRS as deceptive, highlights two years of Congress welfare

Hyderabad: Telangana Labour and Mines Minister Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy on Tuesday declared that the Congress government’s two-year rule stood for welfare, unlike the previous BRS regime, which he described as deceptive.

He made these remarks after inaugurating a new KGBV school building worth Rs 2.3 crore near Ellupalli in Siddipet Urban mandal. MP Madhavaneni Raghunandan Rao joined him at the event. Later, at Namcharpalli, Vivek laid the foundation stone for CC roads in ten villages and unveiled a Telangana Thalli statue at the Siddipet Collectorate.

The Minister said the government was implementing schemes promised under the six guarantees. These include Indiramma housing, new ration cards, and subsidised rice for poor families.

Congress welfare two years includes housing, pensions, ration cards

Vivek accused the BRS of restricting welfare to select beneficiaries. He claimed the Congress was reaching all underprivileged groups without bias.

New pensions, he said, would begin rolling out next month. Additionally, he announced 500 more Indiramma houses for the Siddipet constituency. BRS leaders, he alleged, had misled people for a decade with false promises of double-bedroom homes.

According to Vivek, the Congress government provided 10 lakh houses in two years. It also issued new ration cards that BRS never delivered. He added that the state was distributing Rs 12,000 crore worth of subsidised rice. Soon after coming to power, the Congress had waived farm loans amounting to Rs 23,000 crore.

He dismissed criticism over the loan waiver as deliberate political distraction. The government, he said, remained committed to rural development.

₹15 crore works planned in Siddipet town

The Minister said all sections of society were receiving welfare schemes transparently. He promised to work with the Collector to resolve issues raised in Namcharpalli village.

Vivek announced Rs 15 crore in planned development projects for Siddipet town. He said statues of Telangana Thalli and the anthem Jaya Jaya He Telangana, written by Ande Sri, reflect the spirit of public governance in the state.

District Collector Haimavathi, Library Corporation Chairman Kadam Lingamurthy, RTA member Surya Varma, DEO Ravinder Reddy, DRDO Jayadev Arya, District Congress President Anksha Reddy, in-charge Pujala Harikrishna, and several sarpanches attended the events.
