Hyderabad: Minister Seethakka offered traditional prayers to Sammakka and Sarakka deities at Medaram on Friday, fulfilling her vows during the ongoing tribal fair. She prayed for the well-being, happiness, and health of all citizens across the state for Medaram prayers.
Following the ritual, she interacted with devotees at the jatara site, inquiring about their grievances and experiences. Speaking on the occasion, Seethakka described the Medaram Jatara as a powerful symbol of Telangana’s cultural and spiritual heritage. She added that the government had arranged all necessary facilities to ensure a smooth experience for pilgrims.
British Deputy High Commissioner visits Medaram
British Deputy High Commissioner to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Gareth Wynn Owen, also visited the jatara and paid his respects at the Sammakka-Sarakka shrine. Minister Seethakka personally accompanied him during the darshan.
He was joined by Political Economic Adviser Nalini Raghuraman. Seethakka briefed the dignitaries on the significance, rituals, and scale of the Medaram Jatara.
