Hyderabad: A court in LB Nagar, Rangareddy district, sentenced a man to rigorous life imprisonment in the Miyapur murder case for murdering a woman and attempting to kill her daughter in 2022.
The XII Additional Sessions Judge, T. Anitha, convicted Yeddu Sandeep Kumar alias Bablu (26) in the case registered under the Miyapur Police Station limits.
The court also awarded him 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for attempted murder and three months of simple imprisonment for house trespass. In addition, it imposed a fine of ₹10,000.
Miyapur murder case stemmed from harassment
According to the prosecution, the accused had harassed Vaibhavi after their relationship ended. He allegedly suspected her character and repeatedly threatened her. Later, he learned about her engagement and entered the family’s house on December 13, 2022.
He allegedly attacked Vaibhavi and her mother, N. Shobha, with a knife. Shobha succumbed to her injuries the following day. However, Vaibhavi survived the attack. The accused later attempted suicide and was admitted to a hospital.
Miyapur murder case ended after trial
Cyberabad Police conducted a detailed investigation and arrested the accused. Subsequently, investigators filed a charge sheet before the court. Afterward, the court examined the evidence during a full-fledged trial and convicted the accused. The judgment brought the nearly four-year-old Miyapur murder case to a close.
