Law spares none, says Kodandaram on Kaleshwaram inquiry against KCR

Hyderabad: MLC Professor Kodandaram has said that no one is above the law and that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) appearing before the commission investigating the Kaleshwaram project is a consequence of public funds being spent without accountability. His remarks came during the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) Greater Hyderabad plenary held at the party’s state office in Nampally.

Speaking at the event, Kodandaram pointed out that nearly ₹1 lakh crore was spent on constructing the Kaleshwaram project during KCR’s tenure, and questioned the hue and cry being raised over the former Chief Minister’s appearance before the inquiry panel. “If anyone commits mistakes, they must answer before the law,” he asserted.

Kodandaram expressed anguish that while the massive Kaleshwaram structure now stands damaged, the burden of debts remains on the people. He hoped KCR would present the facts truthfully before the commission. He also praised the Congress government for showing willingness to listen to public grievances, which, he said, was absent during KCR’s rule.

The plenary saw the party leadership reaffirming their commitment to strengthening Telangana Jana Samithi in the coming days. Kodandaram hoisted the party flag and paid floral tributes to Professor Jayashankar and Telangana martyrs.

The meeting, presided over by city president M. Narsayya, was attended by Professor Haragopal, TJS state vice-president Professor P.L. Visweshwar Rao, state general secretaries Bairi Ramesh and Palle Vinay, city general secretary Ramchander, labour wing president Akula Srinivas, women’s wing president Lakshmi, and secretary Pushpalatha Goud, among others.
