KTR slams slow pace of SRDP works, cites neglect of key flyovers

HYDERABAD: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Thursday criticised the current government for the sluggish progress of infrastructure works under the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP), which he claimed had made rapid strides during the previous BRS administration.

KTR said that construction of flyovers and underpasses had moved at a fast pace under their government, but the same projects were now progressing at a snail’s pace. He pointed out that there was little to no attention being paid to crucial works such as the Falaknuma and Shastripuram Road Over Bridges (ROBs).

He also highlighted the stalled construction of the second-level flyover near Shilpa Layout meant to connect directly to the international airport, calling the delay unacceptable.

KTR accused the present administration of being more focused on demolitions in the name of “Hydera” and “Musi” projects rather than on actual development and construction that benefits the public. He said that while the government was showing zeal in razing poor people’s homes, it had neglected vital infrastructure works essential for the city’s growth.
