Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K.T. Rama Rao said he had served a KTR legal notice on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, demanding an unconditional public apology within 48 hours over allegations linking him to Globe Arena Technologies.
In a statement on Thursday, KTR described the allegations as false, malicious and defamatory. He said the Chief Minister had wrongly claimed that Globe Arena Technologies was his benami company and made several other baseless accusations.
KTR said the legal notice was issued after the Chief Minister made repeated statements before the media without producing any evidence. He asserted that he had no ownership, financial, proprietary or any other relationship with Globe Arena Technologies. He challenged the Chief Minister to substantiate the allegations with credible evidence.
KTR legal notice seeks public apology
“The Chief Minister has been asked to prove his allegations within 48 hours. If he fails to do so, he must tender an unconditional public apology. Otherwise, he will face appropriate civil and criminal legal proceedings, including a defamation suit for the irreparable damage caused to my reputation,” KTR said.
Rejecting the allegations, the BRS working president said the claims that Globe Arena was his benami company were false. He also denied facilitating CBSE examination contracts for the firm. KTR said he had no financial interest in the company. He termed the allegations fabricated and politically motivated.
Questioning the Chief Minister’s stand, KTR asked why the Congress government had entered into agreements with Globe Arena Technologies if it was allegedly his benami company. “Your own government signed contracts with the firm, and today you are claiming that it is my benami company. Does the Chief Minister have any sense of responsibility before making such allegations?” he said.
KTR also accused Revanth Reddy of attempting to divert public attention from the issue of alleged irregularities in national examinations.
