Makthal police seize 43 vehicles during cordon search

Hyderabad: Police detained 43 suspicious vehicles during a security operation in Makthal town to check unlawful activities and prevent crime. The Makthal police cordon search covered Ambedkar Nagar and Yellamma Kunta from 8 am on Tuesday, following orders from the district Superintendent of Police.

Circle Inspector Ramlal Rathod said personnel from Makthal, Maganoor, Krishna and Marikal police stations took part in the checks. Officers identified the vehicles during the operation and detained them for verification.

Rathod asked residents to watch for unfamiliar people and vehicles in their neighbourhoods. He urged them to alert police if they noticed anything suspicious. He said timely information from the public could help officers monitor movements and prevent crime.

Makthal police cordon search also focuses on road safety and drug abuse

Rathod warned that careless driving by others could cause accidents even when motorists followed traffic rules. Therefore, he urged all two-wheeler riders to wear helmets. He said helmets could reduce the risk of serious head injuries during crashes.

The inspector also cautioned residents against using or selling ganja and other intoxicating substances. He said drug addiction could damage young people’s futures and increase the risk of criminal behaviour. Accordingly, he appealed to parents to keep their children away from drugs and remain alert to signs of substance use.

Rathod asked families to inform police if they found a member struggling with drug dependence. He said the department would help them access the treatment they needed.

Police also instructed owners of the detained vehicles to produce valid documents before reclaiming them. Sub-Inspectors Raju, Naveed, Ramesh, Mahendra Reddy and Revathi participated in the operation. Assistant Sub-Inspector Shankaraiah and other police personnel also took part.
