KTR attacks Revanth Reddy over Hitler remark and HYDRAA

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his remarks at The Hindu Conclave in Bengaluru, alleging that the comments exposed an authoritarian mindset and reflected the ideology behind the Congress government’s governance model.

In a statement, KTR referred to Revanth Reddy’s remarks linking HYDRAA’s functioning to the actions of Adolf Hitler and claimed that the comments revealed the thinking behind what he described as demolition-driven governance. He alleged that the people of Telangana had already witnessed such tendencies through the functioning of HYDRAA.

KTR said the Chief Minister’s comments had brought national attention to the issue and accused the Congress government of glorifying force, intimidation and demolitions. He further alleged that the administration was relying on coercive methods rather than democratic governance.

The BRS leader also claimed that HYDRAA functions as an “assassination agency” that targets the homes and livelihoods of ordinary citizens. He accused the government of taking pride in demolitions affecting poor and middle-class families.

Hitler remark HYDRAA controversy sparks political row

Drawing a contrast with the previous BRS government, KTR said his party was guided by democratic and constitutional principles. He stated that the BRS administration followed the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi and Professor Jayashankar during its decade in power.

According to KTR, governance should be rooted in constitutional values rather than authoritarian methods. He said Telangana was administered under the principles enshrined in the Constitution and the vision advocated by Telangana ideologue Professor Jayashankar.

The BRS working president also questioned whether the Congress high command supported a Chief Minister publicly invoking one of history’s most controversial dictators. He asked whether such statements were acceptable in a democratic country and said the people of Telangana deserved clarification from the Congress leadership.

KTR further alleged that the Congress government had become synonymous with demolitions, coercion and intimidation instead of welfare and governance. He warned that the people of Telangana would reject any attempt to normalise authoritarian rule and asserted that BRS would continue to oppose such policies.
