Hyderabad: Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday launched HAM road projects worth ₹338 crore and laid the foundation stone for 14 road works covering 149 km across Ibrahimpatnam, Maheshwaram, Medchal and LB Nagar constituencies. He said the projects will improve connectivity, strengthen road safety and support Telangana’s infrastructure growth.
Addressing a public meeting at Thorrur village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, the Minister said the State government is pursuing infrastructure development without political considerations. He added that the roads are being built to set a national benchmark under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said Telangana has launched one of the country’s largest road modernisation programmes. He noted that 441 roads covering 6,092 km are being developed at a cost of ₹13,000 crore under 34 Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) packages.
Furthermore, he said the newly launched projects form part of the flagship programme aimed at improving connectivity, reducing travel time and boosting economic activity across the State.
HAM road projects to upgrade key suburban corridors
The ₹338-crore package includes the development of corridors connecting Hayathnagar–Thorrur–Koheda–Anajpur, Anajpur–Abdullapurmet–Bandaraviryal, Hayathnagar–Kuntloor–Pasumamula–Taramatipet, Sagar Road–Injapur–Thorrur–Brahmanpally–Ragannaguda and Sagar Road–Injapur–Hayathnagar. The roads will be upgraded into four-lane corridors with central lighting and enhanced safety features.
Meanwhile, the Minister said the projects will reduce traffic congestion, improve regional connectivity and create employment and investment opportunities. He reiterated that the government’s goal is to deliver high-quality road infrastructure that supports Telangana’s long-term development.
Speaking at the event, MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said the government has prioritised roads, education, healthcare and civic infrastructure in the Ibrahimpatnam constituency. He said the HAM road projects will contribute to the region’s overall development.
