Hyderabad: BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao consoled the family of late Telangana movement leader and former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy at their residence in Nallabelli on Sunday.
KCR first paid floral tributes to Peddi Sudarshan Reddy’s portrait. He then met the bereaved family and offered his condolences.
The BRS chief became emotional during the interaction and broke down in tears. He consoled the family members and assured them of his support.
KCR also handed over documents related to ₹2.25 crore in financial assistance from the BRS to the Peddi family.
The assistance included ₹1 crore each for Sudarshan Reddy’s two children. The party would also deposit ₹25 lakh in a bank account in the name of his mother, Amrutamma, for her welfare.
KCR had already taken the decision to provide the assistance. During Sunday’s visit, the party handed over the relevant documents to the family.
Peddi Sudarshan Reddy family assured of continued BRS support
KCR assured the family that the BRS would stand by them at all times. He said the party would support the children’s future and education and continue to assist the family in matters concerning their welfare.
According to KCR, the decision followed discussions with senior party leaders and key BRS leaders from Warangal district.
BRS sources said district party leaders would meet after Peddi Sudarshan Reddy’s tenth-day death rites. They would discuss additional welfare measures for the family during the meeting.
Meanwhile, BRS leaders and workers extended their solidarity to KCR along the route to Nallabelli. Party workers gathered at several locations as his convoy passed through the area.
KCR stopped his convoy at some places and interacted with the workers. He also encouraged them during the interactions.
