Hyderabad: A Madannapet market fire broke out at a vegetable market on Tuesday night, causing damage to a ginger and garlic shop. The blaze started at around 10.30 pm and quickly spread through materials stored around the shops.
The fire reportedly began inside a shop selling ginger and garlic. The trader, Ashok, had recently purchased around 40 boxes of goods for sale and stored them inside the shop.
Those goods were completely destroyed in the fire, according to the information available. Materials stored in front of the shops also helped the flames spread rapidly across the area.
Meanwhile, hamalis working at the market noticed the fire and immediately alerted the fire department. Their quick response helped authorities begin firefighting operations without delay.
Malakpet fire station personnel reached the market soon after receiving the alert. The firefighters then began efforts to contain the flames and prevent the blaze from reaching nearby shops.
Fire personnel worked for around 30 minutes before bringing the fire under control. CI Chandrasekhar confirmed that the firefighters managed to contain the blaze after reaching the scene.
