Hyderabad: Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday said she would never forgive former BRS minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy and accused him of betraying former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
Kavitha alleged that Prashanth Reddy called himself an elder son to KCR but acted like Shakuni from the Mahabharata. She said she might forgive former minister Harish Rao and former MP Santosh Kumar. However, she would not forgive Prashanth Reddy.
Kavitha alleged that Prashanth Reddy met Congress leaders two days after the BRS lost power. She further accused him of creating differences between KCR and his children after benefiting from the former Chief Minister’s patronage.
She made the remarks while addressing the Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha in Nizamabad. Kavitha also called for a new political force in Telangana.
The Telangana Rakshana Sena chief sought another opportunity to serve Nizamabad. “I have worked here as the daughter-in-law of Nizamabad. Please give me another chance. You are my strength,” she said.
Kavitha said she could join another party if she only wanted to pursue politics. Instead, she said her political activity focused on serving the people.
She became emotional while discussing cases against her. “No matter how many cases were filed, I maintained that I had done nothing wrong. Why was I put in Tihar Jail?” Kavitha asked.
Kavitha Prashanth Reddy dispute intensifies in Nizamabad
Kavitha said the BRS showed no compassion when it removed her from the party during a difficult period. She said her tears reflected the pain of remaining honest.
At the same time, she warned that nobody should mistake her for a coward. Kavitha also recalled how her mother-in-law supported her during her time in jail.
Turning to the Kaleshwaram project, Kavitha strongly criticised the previous BRS government. She alleged that the project consumed ₹1 lakh crore but failed to provide water to even one acre in Nizamabad district.
She also alleged corruption during the BRS regime. According to Kavitha, the assets of MLAs from that period increased substantially over 10 years.
Meanwhile, she criticised the Congress government and alleged that it had achieved nothing during its 1,000-day tenure. She also accused the opposition of failing to question the government.
Kavitha expressed confidence that the Telangana Rakshana Sena would win five seats in Nizamabad district. She announced that the party would contest all ZPTC and MPTC elections.
If the party came to power, she said it would provide free education and healthcare.
