Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday inaugurated the new Moosarambagh Bridge across the Musi River in Hyderabad.
The 400-metre Moosarambagh Bridge connects the Amberpet-Dilsukhnagar route. The government spent ₹52 crore to build the bridge.
After the inauguration, Revanth Reddy inspected the bridge with elected representatives. He also viewed a photo exhibition that officials arranged for the project.
The Moosarambagh Bridge aims to prevent road disruptions during Musi floods. Its structure can withstand flood flows of up to 1.5 lakh cusecs.
Consequently, the new crossing is expected to improve connectivity along the route. It will also ease difficulties for motorists during the monsoon season.
Moosarambagh Bridge improves flood-time connectivity
The project adds a new road connection across the Musi River. Moreover, its design allows the bridge to withstand flood flows of up to 1.5 lakh cusecs.
Government Adviser V. Hanumantha Rao attended the inauguration. MPs Asaduddin Owaisi and A.K. Yadav also joined the programme.
MLAs Malreddy Ranga Reddy, Kaleru Venkatesh, Sri Ganesh and Naveen Yadav attended the event as well. Other public representatives and officials also participated.
Meanwhile, the bridge is expected to support smoother movement along the Amberpet-Dilsukhnagar route. It should also ease traffic problems during heavy rain and flooding.
The ₹52-crore project has now opened for use. The 400-metre bridge provides motorists with a new crossing over the Musi River.
