Cyber safety rules focus on online fraud prevention

Police said fraudsters often pose as bank officials. Some also impersonate police personnel or customer care executives.

Their goal is to obtain sensitive personal and financial information from victims.

The Cyber Crimes Unit advised citizens never to share one-time passwords. It also asked them not to disclose passwords or banking credentials.

Police stressed the need to stay alert while using digital platforms. They also encouraged citizens to remain informed about cyber threats.

The unit urged people to report cyber fraud immediately. Victims can call the national cybercrime helpline at 1930.

They can also file complaints through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
