Hyderabad Ganesh immersion arrangements include 280 cranes, 700 special buses
Hyderabad: Police, GHMC, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and TGSRTC made extensive arrangements for the Hyderabad Ganesh immersion. Authorities expected large crowds and a heavy flow of Ganesh idols across the city.
Police introduced traffic diversions and deployed additional personnel at key locations. They also strengthened security along major procession routes.
Ganesh idols from Charminar, Begum Bazaar and Goshamahal would move towards Hussain Sagar through MJ Market. Likewise, idols from Balapur, Chandrayangutta and Falaknuma would use the same route.
Police teams would monitor traffic and law and order at the junction. Officials also prepared additional arrangements along the procession routes.
Hyderabad Ganesh immersion gets 280 cranes
Authorities arranged 110 static cranes and 170 mobile cranes for the Hyderabad Ganesh immersion. They placed nine cranes at People’s Plaza and another 10 along NTR Marg.
In addition, officials created 12 joint control rooms to coordinate with police teams. Ganesh Action Teams would operate at intervals of three to four kilometres along the procession route.
At immersion points, 770 sanitation workers would work for 24 hours. Another 6,000 sweeping staff would handle waste removal across the city.
Authorities also arranged 287 mobile toilets, 4.91 lakh garbage collection bags and 43,270 temporary lights. These facilities would support devotees and personnel during the celebrations.
Drinking water arrangements expanded
Officials arranged 137 dedicated drinking water camps for devotees. They also provided water facilities at 90 baby ponds.
Meanwhile, authorities set up 12 special water camps around Tank Bund and the Secretariat. They kept 40 lakh water packets ready for distribution.
The water arrangements covered major immersion locations and areas expecting large crowds. Officials coordinated these facilities with other departments involved in the event.
Khairatabad gets 523 additional police personnel
As the procession was set to begin, authorities deployed 523 additional police personnel in Khairatabad. The force included six DSPs, 10 inspectors and 20 sub-inspectors.
It also included 15 platoons and 266 constables. In addition, officials deployed SHE Teams, pushing parties, striking forces and picketing teams.
Police teams would manage security and crowd movement along the Khairatabad route. They would also coordinate with other teams during the procession.
TGSRTC to run 700 special buses
TGSRTC would run 700 special buses for 24 hours to help devotees travel during the Hyderabad Ganesh immersion. The buses would connect Hussain Sagar and nearby areas with different city routes.
Because of traffic diversions, TGSRTC officials and controllers would work at 44 key locations. The zonal office would also operate a special control room to monitor passenger movement.
Furthermore, TGSRTC would keep relief vehicles at Old MLA Quarters, Indira Park and the V.V. statue area. The vehicles would provide emergency assistance when required.
Officials would operate special TGSRTC camps at Khairatabad, Lakdikapul, Koti, Basheerbagh, Indira Park and the AIR area. These camps would support passengers and coordinate bus services.
For emergency repairs, TGSRTC kept 113 drivers and 87 mechanics available. The transport teams would respond to bus breakdowns and increased passenger demand during the immersion.
