Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar on Friday handed over Home Guards insurance cheques worth Rs 38 lakh each to the families of two Home Guards who died in separate accidents while serving in the Hyderabad Commissionerate.
The Commissioner presented the cheques during a programme held at the Police Commissioner’s Office in Basheerbagh.
The beneficiaries were the families of Home Guards Syed Hussain and Simhagiri, who recently lost their lives in separate incidents.

According to officials, Syed Hussain died after drowning, while Simhagiri lost his life in a road accident.
As the salary accounts of Home Guards carried accident insurance coverage, Axis Bank sanctioned insurance benefits to the families.
Sajjanar handed over cheques of Rs 38 lakh each to Reshma Begum, wife of Syed Hussain, and Bhavani, wife of Simhagiri.
The programme aimed to provide financial support to the families following the loss of the two personnel.

Several bank and police officials attended the event.
Those present included Axis Bank Senior Vice President J. Ravindranath, Vice Presidents Ravinder Reddy and Uday Kumar Naidu, and Senior Managers Prabhakara Rao Allu and Vinod Kumar L.
DCP CAR Headquarters R. Venkateshwarlu, Additional DCP Bhaskar, ACPs Bhaskar and Krishna, and RI Narasimha Goud also participated in the programme.
