Hash oil peddlers arrested in Hyderabad with contraband worth ₹1.02 lakh

Hyderabad: Hash oil peddlers arrested in Hyderabad as the Commissioner’s Task Force, Jubilee Hills Zone Team, along with Jubilee Hills Police, apprehended three persons in possession of narcotic substance worth ₹1,02,500.

The arrested included two peddlers and one consumer. Police identified them as Shankrulla Akhil, 30, an unemployed resident of Mytri Colony, Kismathpur, Bandlagudajagir; Pokhrel Sandeep, 25, a chef from Rahmath Nagar, Yousufguda; and Shaik Anwar, 28, a private employee from Sravanthi Nagar, Venkatagiri, Jubilee Hills.

Officials said Akhil and Sandeep were involved in peddling, while Anwar was a consumer. The operation led to the seizure of 45 bottles of hash oil, each containing 5 ml, along with 185 grams of loose hash oil. Police also recovered three mobile phones from the accused.

Hash oil peddlers arrested after Araku supply link uncovered

Investigators said Akhil, a native of Bandlaguda Jagir, engaged in illegal procurement and sale of hash oil. He identified a growing demand for the substance in Hyderabad.

Due to financial constraints and limited income, he established contact with a known supplier based in Araku. He then procured hash oil from the source and transported it to Hyderabad.

Subsequently, he sold the substance to Sandeep and other customers for monetary gain. Police said the case exposed a supply chain linking Araku to Hyderabad’s local drug network.

Following the arrests, police issued a strong appeal to youth and the general public to stay away from drugs. They said narcotics continue to harm careers, families, and long-term prospects.

Officials warned that substance abuse leads to severe consequences, including loss of employment, mental and physical health issues, and criminal records.

They urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities. Police advised the public to dial 100 immediately upon noticing any drug-related activity.

The arrests were carried out under the supervision of Ch. Yadender, Inspector of Police, West Zone Task Force, and G. Sandeep Reddy, Sub-Inspector of Police, Jubilee Hills Zone Task Force, along with their teams and Jubilee Hills Police.

The operation was overseen by Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad.
