Chilkalguda murder accused arrested in Hyderabad after brutal killing

Hyderabad: Chilkalguda murder accused arrested in Hyderabad as police apprehended two men for killing a 43-year-old AC technician after a financial dispute.

Police arrested Najmuddin alias Jahangir, 35, a labourer from Bholakpur, and Syed Ilyas, 33, a bike washer from Zamistanpur. Officers detained them on April 25 at around 7:30 am at a hotel in Musheerabad.

During questioning, both men admitted their role in the crime. Investigators confirmed that they knew the victim, Mohd. Aleem.

Chilkalguda murder accused arrested after liquor dispute

The incident took place on April 23 between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm. The accused and the victim consumed liquor together before an argument began.

However, the quarrel escalated due to earlier disputes over money linked to liquor and gambling. As tensions rose, the accused decided to attack Aleem.

Ilyas then stabbed the victim on the left side of his face with a knife. Aleem suffered heavy bleeding, walked a few steps, and collapsed on the road.

Later that evening, at around 7 pm, the victim’s son Mohd. Aman found him lying near KVK Wines in Padmarao Nagar. He immediately shifted Aleem to Gandhi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police recovered the knife used in the attack, a blood-stained shirt, and a brown Activa scooter. These items were linked directly to the crime.

Investigators said Najmuddin held a grudge against the victim. He reportedly felt humiliated after repeated disputes over money matters. Therefore, he conspired with Ilyas to carry out the attack.

Police also found that Ilyas had a prior criminal record. He was involved in an attempt to murder case registered in 2025 at Musheerabad Police Station.

Chilkalguda murder accused arrested after swift action

Police traced the accused using credible leads and acted quickly to detain them. The operation followed coordinated efforts by multiple officers.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Rakshitha Krishna Murthy supervised the case. Additional DCP J. Narsaiah and ACP K. Shashank Reddy assisted in the investigation.

Inspector V. Ramakrishna of Chilkalguda Police Station led the probe along with his team.
