Hyderabad: BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Monday launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of abandoning welfare and prioritizing political vendetta.
Speaking to a television reporter in Siddipet, Harish Rao claimed that the Congress government had replaced public schemes with corruption. “Under Revanth Reddy, there are no schemes, only scams,” he said, mocking the chief minister’s governance.
He objected to the repeated use of Special Investigation Teams (SITs) to target decisions taken by the previous administration. According to him, such actions would not address people’s problems or gain public trust. Instead, he said Revanth Reddy remained focused on criticizing former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) rather than outlining a development agenda.
Harish Rao slams Revanth Reddy for unfulfilled schemes
Harish Rao questioned the non-delivery of several pre-election promises. These included the ₹4,000 pension, two missed instalments under the Rythu Bandhu scheme, and the scooters promised to girls. “Where are the schemes? All we see are scams,” he remarked, accusing the Congress of slashing key welfare initiatives.
He also mocked the absence of a job calendar, saying that instead, “a new scam calendar is released every month.” Revanth Reddy, he alleged, had betrayed public faith. According to Rao, “He swore on every god during the elections and still went back on his word.”
Looking ahead to the upcoming municipal elections, Harish Rao expressed confidence that the BRS would win a majority of the 19 municipalities in the erstwhile Medak district. He concluded by contrasting what he called BRS’s legacy of sacrifice with the Congress party’s record of betrayal.
