Hyderabad: Former minister and MLA Harish Rao on Monday visited the industrial accident site at Pasamailaram in Sangareddy district, where a massive fire and explosion on Sunday night left eight people dead and over two dozen injured.
Accompanied by MLA Chinta Prabhakar and other leaders, Harish Rao met officials including the district Collector, SP, and NDRF teams to review rescue operations.
Speaking to the media, he expressed anger at what he called government negligence, pointing out that even five hours after the incident, officials had failed to provide clear details to the victims’ families.
He described the loss of eight lives as deeply tragic, conveying condolences to their families.

According to officials, around 140 people were working inside the four-storey building when the explosion occurred, causing the structure to collapse. About 26 injured workers were shifted to various hospitals, while others remain unaccounted for.
Harish Rao criticised the authorities for the lack of coordination, with conflicting numbers on how many people were on duty at the time.
He demanded that a control room and a common helpline be set up immediately, and urged officials to communicate with worried families.
He further called for shifting burn victims with severe injuries to corporate hospitals instead of primary care centres, warning that critical treatment within the golden hour could save lives.
“This is the third such industrial mishap in the area in a year, which is unacceptable,” he said.
He demanded ₹1 crore ex-gratia for each deceased victim’s family and ₹50 lakh for the injured, alongside a full inquiry and strong safety measures to prevent repeat tragedies.
