Hyderabad: Sirpur MLA Dr Palvai Harish Babu sought an urgent discussion on outsourcing employees’ problems in the Telangana Assembly.
Accordingly, Harish Babu submitted a written notice to the Legislative Assembly Secretary. He invoked Rule 63 of the Assembly Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business.
The MLA sought suspension of regular proceedings for the discussion. He described the issue as one of urgent public importance.
Harish Babu said nearly five lakh outsourcing employees worked across Telangana. However, many had not received their salaries on time.
As a result, their families faced serious financial difficulties, he said. Therefore, he urged the Assembly to take up the issue immediately.
Outsourcing employees seek timely salaries and job security
Meanwhile, Harish Babu demanded an immediate Outsourcing Corporation. He said the Congress election manifesto had promised such a body.
In addition, the MLA said the proposed corporation should provide full job security. He also demanded protection from exploitation by middlemen.
Furthermore, he urged the Speaker to suspend regular Assembly business for a special debate. The discussion, he said, should address the problems of lakhs of workers.
At the same time, Harish Babu stressed the need for timely monthly salaries. He said delayed payments continued to cause hardship for employees and their families.
Finally, the Sirpur MLA asked the government to act on its election promise. He sought measures to provide greater employment security to outsourcing workers.
