Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary in Hyderabad. The Governor offered the tributes at Shastri’s statue near Lal Bahadur Play Ground in Rahimpur.
While remembering Lal Bahadur Shastri, Shukla highlighted his simple lifestyle, integrity, humility and commitment to public service. He said Shastri’s dedication to the nation and national unity continued to inspire generations.
As Prime Minister, Shastri gave the country the call of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan”. The slogan recognised the important role of the armed forces and farmers in the country’s security and progress.
Lal Bahadur Shastri ideals remain relevant, Governor says
The Governor said Lal Bahadur Shastri’s values of patriotism, discipline, unity and service remained relevant. Therefore, he urged people to uphold these principles in their public and personal lives.
Shukla also called upon citizens to contribute towards building a developed, peaceful and compassionate India. He recalled Shastri’s contribution to the nation and paid rich tributes to his memory on his birth anniversary.
