Golconda Police arrest four in murder case within 24 hours

Hyderabad: Police have solved the Golconda murder case with the arrest of four accused within 24 hours of the crime involving the death of a 26-year-old electrician in Hyderabad.

According to investigators, the victim, Shaik Mahboob alias Masood Chandi, was killed during an attack at his residence in Kumarwadi on June 12.

Police said the murder was linked to a family dispute arising from a love marriage that some relatives of the victim’s wife allegedly opposed.

Investigators said the accused allegedly attacked Mahboob using an iron rod, a knife and wooden sticks.

The victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Based on intelligence inputs, a special police team launched a search operation and tracked down the suspects.

The operation took place under the supervision of Tolichowki ACP Syed Fiaz.

Police arrested all four accused on June 13, less than a day after the incident.

The accused were identified as Shaik Zahed, 28, Zeeshan Nawab, 30, Amer Nawab, 26, and Nafeez Sulthana, 48.

Police produced the accused before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.

Investigators also seized an iron rod and a knife believed to have been used in the attack.

Officials said the swift arrests helped crack the Golconda murder case within 24 hours.

Police are continuing the investigation to establish all aspects of the incident.

The case has drawn attention because of the speed with which investigators identified and apprehended the accused.

Officials said further inquiries are underway.
