Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan felicitated Shrama Shakti awardees AVS Gandhi and K. Shiva Kumar at the GHMC Head Office on Monday.
The awards were presented earlier by G. Vivek Venkatswamy, Minister for Labour, Employment and Mines, Telangana.
The felicitation ceremony recognised the contributions of the awardees to labour welfare and public service. Officials and union representatives attended the event.
Shrama Shakti awardees recognised for labour contributions
On the occasion, Adil Shariff, Working President of Municipal Sahakar Mazdoor Union (MSMU), INTUC, highlighted the union’s role in supporting GHMC employees.
He said the honour brought pride and recognition to the organisation. He added that the state government had acknowledged the efforts of leaders working to safeguard employee interests.
The awardees expressed gratitude to Adil Shariff for recommending their names for the recognition. They said the award encouraged them to continue their work for employee welfare.
The event underscored the importance of recognising contributions made by labour representatives in municipal services.
