Hyderabad: Food Safety inspections at GSM Mall in Miyapur and Madinaguda uncovered multiple hygiene and food safety violations at Barbeque Nation and Chinese Wok. Officials issued improvement notices to both restaurants after identifying several compliance lapses.
The Cyberabad CMC Food Safety team first inspected Barbeque Nation. During the inspection, officials found brownies and kulfis stored without labels. They immediately discarded the items.

Officials also found that the restaurant had not maintained food testing and pest control records. They noticed cockroaches near the fruit storage area. They further observed dirty kitchen crates and damaged vegetable cutting boards. The team assigned the restaurant a hygiene score of 79% and directed the management to rectify the deficiencies.
The inspection team later visited Chinese Wok in the same mall. Officials found that the restaurant had not prominently displayed its FSSAI licence. They also found that staff used eggs without cleaning them before preparation.
In addition, inspectors noticed unclean water taps in the rice and noodles preparation area. They also found no food testing records, packaging material records or annual medical fitness records of employees. The team awarded the restaurant a hygiene score of 82% and issued an improvement notice.
Food Safety officials warned that they would take strict action against establishments that fail to comply with food safety and hygiene regulations.
