Hyderabad: A bus crash near Muthyalammagudem in Kattangur mandal of Nalgonda district left two drivers injured on Tuesday morning after a private travels bus collided with a cement mixer tanker. Nearly 40 passengers escaped unhurt.
The private bus was travelling from Vijayawada to Hyderabad when one of its tyres reportedly burst. Police said the driver lost control despite trying to steer the vehicle. The bus crossed the road median and crashed into a cement mixer tanker coming from the opposite direction.
Bus crash traps both drivers
The collision trapped both the bus driver and the tanker driver inside their cabins. Local residents rushed to the accident site and rescued them before shifting them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
All other passengers escaped without injuries, according to preliminary reports. Police are gathering further details about the accident.
