Food Safety teams inspect Oakridge International Schools kitchens

Hyderabad: Food Safety inspection teams conducted routine inspections at the kitchens of Oakridge International Schools in Bowrampet (Bachupally) and Khajaguda as part of the ongoing food safety drive across Cyberabad.

The teams found several good food safety and hygiene practices at both campuses. Food handlers wore hairnets, caps and protective gear, while the schools maintained medical fitness records, pest control records, and food and water testing reports. FOSTAC supervisors were present, and staff followed proper labelling, pallet storage and FIFO practices. The schools also carried out monthly external food testing, displayed nutrition information for students and stored allergen-specific food separately.

Food Safety inspection identifies minor hygiene issues

However, the inspection teams identified a few shortcomings that required immediate attention. At the Bowrampet campus, officials noticed a wet floor and food accumulation in the washing area. They also found that the water dispensers required replacement and observed dust in one corner of the cooking area.

Meanwhile, the Khajaguda campus required better cleaning of eggs before use. Officials also found no provision for hot water to clean large utensils. Following the inspection, the teams directed the school management to implement corrective measures to address all the observations.

The Bowrampet campus secured 102 out of 108 marks, achieving a hygiene score of 95%. The Khajaguda campus scored 99 out of 108 marks, recording a hygiene rating of 92%.
