Hyderabad: BJP MP Etela Rajender strongly criticised the Congress government for its handling of the Montha cyclone in Telangana. He said the state ignored weather warnings and failed to prevent widespread damage.

Rajender launched the “Walk for Unity” and “Walk for Bharat” posters at his residence in Shamirpet, Malkajgiri constituency during the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Speaking to reporters, he accused ministers of neglecting the suffering of flood victims.

He said ministers were busy with the Jubilee Hills by-election instead of visiting disaster zones. “When people were in distress, the government focused on votes, not relief,” he said. Therefore, he demanded that officials provide compensation and rehabilitate affected families without delay.

Mera Yuva Bharat events promote unity and patriotism

Rajender explained that under the Mera Yuva Bharat initiative, schools and colleges across all districts would hold Unity Marches, essay writing, sports events, and quizzes. “These programmes strengthen national integration and spread Sardar Patel’s ideals of unity,” he said.

Moreover, he stressed that patriotism must begin with discipline and service. “Unity in thought and action is the foundation of nation-building,” he added.

Etela Rajender attacks Congress over governance and welfare failures

Rajender, meanwhile, lashed out at the Congress government over pending fee reimbursement dues. He said colleges were struggling, and students faced financial hardship. “The government’s negligence is crushing the education sector,” he said.

In addition, he criticised the administration for not clearing payments to village panchayats for completed projects. “Sarpanches and ward members are in debt because their bills remain unpaid,” he said.

He drew a sharp comparison between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao. “Revanth Reddy is repeating KCR’s mistakes. Both ignored people’s welfare while chasing political power,” he said. “Just as people rejected KCR, they will soon reject Revanth too,” he warned.

BJP leaders join Etela Rajender in unity campaign

Several BJP leaders attended the event, including Mera Yuva Bharat in-charge Isayya, District Sports Officer Damodar, NSS Officer Vishwanath, and Medchal BJP president Buddhi Srinivas. Medchal Assembly candidate Sudarshan Reddy and other senior leaders also joined the event.

Rajender said the Walk for Unity reflected Sardar Patel’s vision of a strong, united India. “Patel stood for discipline, courage, and national integration. His ideals remain timeless and essential today,” he said.
