Hyderabad: Director General of Police CV Anand directed officials to complete the long-pending police station reorganisation in the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City commissionerates. He asked them to implement the exercise in line with government orders issued in December last year.
During a high-level review meeting on Thursday, the DGP said the police station reorganisation should strengthen people-centric policing. He added that the exercise would improve efficiency and enhance police services.
Police station reorganisation to follow new boundaries
CV Anand instructed the commissioners to redraw police station limits by considering municipal boundaries, revenue divisions and court jurisdictions. He also asked them to factor in future urban growth and population expansion while preparing the new jurisdictional maps.
Furthermore, the DGP stressed the need for consultations with stakeholders. He also directed officials to resolve jurisdictional disputes without causing inconvenience to the public, government departments or the judiciary.
Hyderabad Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar, Future City Commissioner of Police Tarun Joshi, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Ramesh Reddy, Malkajgiri Commissioner of Police Sumathi, Joint Commissioners and other senior police officers attended the meeting.
