Hyderabad: SIR process under the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls must be completed on priority, and every eligible citizen should secure voting rights, Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha directed Congress Booth Level Agents (BLAs) on Tuesday.
The Minister reviewed the SIR process at his Sangareddy residence during a meeting with BLAs, Congress mandal presidents, public representatives and party leaders from Munipally, Raikode, Andole, Pulkal, Choutkur, Regode, Vatpally and Alladurg mandals in the Andole Assembly constituency.
Damodar Raja Narasimha asked BLAs to accelerate voter enrolment at the grassroots level. Further, he cautioned them against showing any negligence during the Special Intensive Revision programme.
The Minister interacted with BLAs and sought feedback on their field-level experience. He directed them to identify registered and unregistered voters booth-wise. In addition, he instructed them to distribute enumeration forms and help eligible voters complete the enrolment process.
SIR process targets 100% voter enrolment
Damodar Raja Narasimha said every eligible citizen should receive the right to vote. Therefore, he urged BLAs to create awareness among voters and encourage them to complete the enrolment process.
He instructed BLAs to set daily booth-wise targets and avoid delays in the SIR process. Meanwhile, he asked them to coordinate with voters and complete the exercise within the prescribed deadline.
The Minister directed BLAs to submit completed enumeration forms to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for digitisation. He also appealed to party workers, public representatives and BLAs to work together and achieve 100 per cent voter enrolment.
