Protecting police families is our duty, says Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha

Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha said the government had a clear duty to protect police personnel and their families. He launched a comprehensive health camp for police families at PSR Gardens in Pothireddypally, Sangareddy, on Wednesday.

Health and welfare remain key priorities

Raja Narasimha said the government continued to focus on health, education, and welfare. He praised the decision to organise a special health camp for police families, calling it a compassionate initiative.

Thirteen specialist doctors attended the camp and offered a wide range of medical services. The minister said the government was expanding healthcare facilities from villages to towns so that everyone could receive quality treatment close to home.

Corporate-level care in government hospitals

The minister said the government aimed to deliver corporate-level medical services in public hospitals at affordable cost. He noted that dialysis patients were rising in number across Telangana. The state currently operates 160 dialysis centres and plans to open 80 more soon.

He said the government’s goal was to provide one dialysis centre every 30 kilometres. In addition, 80 trauma centres would be set up on highways to ensure quick response during the “golden hour.” Each district would also get a day-care cancer centre offering chemotherapy locally.

Sangareddy sees rapid healthcare expansion

Raja Narasimha said Sangareddy district was witnessing a major boost in healthcare infrastructure. He listed new facilities, including a medical college, a 500-bed hospital, a nursing college in Andole, and a paramedical college in Sangareddy. The government also added a critical care block, five new PHCs, and three new PHC buildings.

He said new health centres had come up in Vatpally and Tellapur, while dialysis facilities started operating in Patancheru and Narayankhed. The government also sanctioned three new sub-health centres to strengthen rural health services.

After inaugurating the camp, the minister toured all stalls and checked his blood pressure at the medical kiosk.

TGICC Chairperson Nirmala Jagga Reddy, Collector Praveenya, SP Paritosh Pankaj, senior doctors Kiran Kumar, Dr. Raju Goud, Dr. Anand, Dr. Sridhar, Dr. Srihari, and police families attended the programme.
